CEO Update Roundtable includes one-day peer-networking summit bringing together CEOs, search firm principals and thought leaders
Chief executives of the largest and most influential associations are being invited to join an exclusive group, the CEO Update Roundtable. A principal benefit of the enhanced CEO Update membership is a private retreat—already scheduled for April 28, 2017, at Mount Vernon.
CEO Update Roundtable is open to CEOs of trade groups and professional societies with annual revenue of more than $20 million or annual spending on lobbying and advocacy of more than $1 million. Annual fee for membership is $2,500.
Roundtable membership includes:
- Invitation to CEO Update Roundtable Summit
- Registration and premier seating at all CEO Update LIVE events
- Print subscription and online access to CEO Update
- Additional CEO Update membership for two staff members
- Annual CEO Update salary guide
- Access to Association Intel database
Publisher Mark French said the Roundtable builds on the success of CEO Update LIVE. These early-morning events, held several times each year, discuss issues of importance to association executives. Depending on the topic, the CEO Update Live panels may include top executives, recruiters or experts in executive compensation and nonprofit law.
"We find that in talking with CEOs, some of the experiences they value the most are the opportunities to interact with each other in a safe environment, and opportunities to talk about issues relating to their management of complex organizations," French said.
The inaugural CEO Update Roundtable Summit will be held at the Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington at Mount Vernon, about 15 miles south of Washington, D.C. In addition to roundtable discussions and private working sessions, a slate of thought leader speakers will provide insights into trends and how organizations can succeed in an age of digital disruption. These speakers are made available through Leading Authorities, parent company of CEO Update.
Search firm principals and other select members of the wider association community have also been invited to join the Roundtable. French said no other forum brings together CEOs with search firm principals, who possess deep understanding of the expectations of boards of directors.
Content for the full day of programming will be guided by a steering committee of prominent association CEOs. Current steering committee members include John H. Graham IV, ASAE; Dirk Kempthorne, American Council of Life Insurers; Robert Koch, Wine Institute; Tom Kuhn, Edison Electric Institute; Susan Neely, American Beverage Association; Tim Pawlenty, Financial Services Roundtable; Arlene Pietranton, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; Leslie Sarasin, Food Marketing Institute; and Gary Shapiro, Consumer Technology Association.
